Requirements:
Bundaberg Walker Engineering on behalf of Bundaberg Sugar sought to incorporate two new 71” Aerobelt conveyors into the mill to replace conventional roller conveyors and integrate with a new bagasse storage silo. The new bagasse system had to:
- Receive baggase from the mill at the end of the crushing line and transfer it to a new storage shed.
- Have a second conveyor that could accept bagasse from the new storage shed or from an outside source using bagasse that had been put into storage.
- Incorporate a third conveyor within the new bagasse storage bin
Solution:
Aerobelt designed a system using two 71” Aerobelt conveyors and these linked into the existing mill to receive bagasse from the crushing process and distribute bagasse from the new storage bin. A third roller conveyor using the same drive components as the Aerobelt conveyors was incorporated into the storage bin.
The new bin stores the bagasse generated by the crushing process. The storage bin has the capability to discharge bagasse onto the second Aerobelt conveyor and into the plant.
The bagasse can be also discharged into trucks for offsite storage.
