Joe White Malting
Perth – Australia
Product – Dry and Malt Barley
Requirements:
Joe White Maltings were constructing as eco and malting plant adjacent to the first system installed in 1997. Additional barley was required to ensure the new facility had sufficient grain and the first conveyor installed in 1998 did not have capacity to provide this. The new conveyor was required to:
- Carry Barley 580’ to Joe White Maltings and be capable of returning the finished product to the adjacent storage silos.
- The design had to be attached to the existing steel work and not require additional civil works.
Aerobelt was able to attach additional steelwork braced to the existing trestles, with no requirement for new civil works or extra supports. This was due to the lighter weight construction of Aerobelt conveyors enabled the design to be completed to meet the design criteria. New triangular pipe spans were attached to the braces that were bolted to the side of the trestles and the new conveyor was installed adjacent to the original conveyor.
Full capacity tests with both conveyors running were completed, and Joe White Maltingscould receive over 600 MTph./ 17,000 bu ph. of Barley to supply both malting plants.
Aerobelt also supplied the new conveyors for the new malt plant during thesame period.
