We are pleased to announce that it has been 1 year since we installed 5 Aerobelts into the Tank Farm at Kennedy Rice Mill, Mer Rouge LA.

Prior to the Aerobelts, the site had square bottom Drags that required constant clean out when the site was required to change varieties or specifications for their next orders.

The cleanout process was lengthy and costly as they lost many man hours of production while pulling the old system apart, cleaning and then putting it back together. Then the cleanout product had either to be reworked or downgraded which added another cost to the business.

Our solution was to install 5 x 500mm wide belt systems to achieve the sites request of 100 metric tonnes per hour / 220,000lbs per hour outlay or as the site put it ‘we need to fill a bulk Rail Car every hour’.

Each conveyor was fitted with a 10hp motor at a speed of 2.2 m/s. Each Fan was driven by a 1hp drive to achieve the required air to lift the belt off the surface of the trough.

Due to the module style of the conveying system, the conveyors were installed within a week, which allowed the business not to lose any orders due to downtime for installation.

Over the last year Kennedy Rice was able to reduce their power usage as their old system was using higher horsepower motors and their annual maintenance cost on the drag chains has been eliminated.

We are pleased to celebrate with Kennedy Rice and are pleased we were able to give them a system that helps them to fill their company’s objectives both on a processing and financial level.
